What NOT to buy your college student?

Yeah... about that..
Students SHOULD have a printer. My college professors want an electronically sent copy of papers and a hard copy. We also have printer money with the school but sometimes it's last minute and wandering towards the library at 4 in the morning is not a good idea when you can easily print in your own room.

Also, people should have a fridge. Maybe this pertains to me more since I have Celiac Disease but you always want to have some frozen meals available or something of the like.

I agree in part with the ironing board... although instead of an ironing board get a mini steamer (Bed Bath and Beyond sells one) and you can hang whatever you want unwrinkled on a hanger and run the steamer up and down it.

While YOU might not need an external hard drive you better be backing up your laptop when you go home on break. I've had friends who have had their computers crash at school and they've lost everything. EVERYTHING. You should have some way to back it up. Even icloud. Something!

Final Letters

I received my final letters from colleges. One was a no and the other was a maybe as a transfer student (aka if I went somewhere else first for a year). And from the third (a college in my state) I was given the option to be wait listed. I chose to be waitlisted.

Oh college, the stressful process is coming to a close! EDIT: In the end I was accepted to the college in my state but I have chosen to go to a school in VA. It was the one I wrote about in my last post "Finding a college is like finding true love"

Got Accepted!!!/ Writing A College Essay

There is nothing like that feeling of getting accepted to your first college. I've gotten into two. Both, I applied to early action. You finally feel better. You can breath a sigh of relief. Someone wants you. Somewhere there is a college that wants you. It's such a good feeling. Because honestly, you are putting yourself out there. But the only part of you that makes you you in your application is the essay. You have to pop out a killer essay. You have to try to find something to write about that no one else will. It's tough. But make a list of everything you could write about (believe me, there will be a lot) and then write mini essays about each topic. Then, when you are done you'll realize which topic you like the most.
